Delivering the Finest Tea to Your Home — With a Commitment to Safety and Peace of Mind
Nakai Farm has been cultivating tea in Wazuka, Kyoto for three generations.
Today, under the leadership of third-generation tea farmer Yoichi Nakai, the farm specializes in organically grown green tea.
Their product lineup includes a wide variety of teas such as shincha (first flush), gyokuro, hojicha, genmaicha, and matcha — each offering a rich aroma and deep flavor.
A Relentless Commitment to Safety and Quality
“Our goal is to create tea that people can truly feel safe drinking.”
With this belief at heart, Nakai Farm made the complete shift to organic farming eight years ago, eliminating the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and herbicides.
Grown with great care and the power of nature, their tea leaves are as gentle on the body as they are on the environment.
To ensure the highest standards of safety and trust, Nakai Farm obtained both the Organic JAS certification and ASIA GAP certification three years ago.
They remain steadfast in their mission to deliver truly safe, high-quality tea.
Nutritious Edible Tea Leaves – Made Possible by Our Commitment to Safety and Purity
Our carefully crafted shincha (first flush tea) can be enjoyed not only as a beverage, but also as a delicious food.
After brewing the leaves two or three times, the remaining tea leaves (chagara) can be eaten as a flavorful topping.
Here’s a simple recipe:
Add a bit of sesame oil to a frying pan and lightly sauté the tea leaves using chopsticks until the moisture evaporates.
Then season with dashi powder, sugar, sake, and soy sauce.
Add bonito flakes and sesame seeds, simmer briefly, and it's ready to serve.
Spoon it over a bowl of warm rice and enjoy!
Making Tea More Accessible and Enjoyable
At Nakai Farm, it’s not just about producing tea — it’s about sharing the story of tea.
Every year, they host immersive experiences such as tea field tours and tea-picking events, inviting people to connect with nature while learning about tea cultivation.
They also engage in the development of tea-based sweets and cosmetics, and actively share knowledge through handcrafted videos that showcase how their tea is made.
